Big love and warm gratitude for connecting here! I cherish this lovely community for the connection, compassion, communication, and support we co-generate. Merci! The world is tender, complex, messy — but alive with potential. As systems shake, souls awaken. As truths are challenged, deeper ones emerge. And in this great turning, your voice, your light, and your presence are medicine.
We are in a threshold era. The outer planets — Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus freshly in Gemini, and Neptune rebirthing in Aries — are stirring a great unraveling and re-visioning of collective consciousness. This isn't just a moment of change — it's a change of eras. The values of authenticity, spiritual sovereignty, and community coherence are rising, even as old structures resist their own dissolving.
Let’s dive into the magic of this New Moon in Leo, exact on July 24 at 3:10 pm EDT. As the majestic King and Queen of the Zodiac, and ruled by the bright Sun, Leo ignites a new fire of sovereignty, dignity, self-love, joy, and creative expression in the sacred hearth of our hearts.
Though the New Moon is the darkest phase in the lunar cycle, energetically speaking, this New Moon in Leo births a bold new fire in our souls for the next four weeks. Take time and create sacred space to plant bold and beautiful intentions in any area of your life. Pay special attention to the themes and houses connected to 2° Leo in your chart, if you know it.
This entire lunar cycle holds a powerful resonance as it forms aspects with every outer planet. For the astro-savvy: the Sun and Moon form a near-perfect opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, a close trine with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and a tight sextile with Uranus in Gemini (see my last Star Notes for more on Uranus in Gemini).
Leo has a profound connection to the physical heart — and let’s remember, the electromagnetic field of the heart is many times stronger than that of the brain. We are developing more heart-brain coherence. The heart doesn’t want to be serious, rigid, and tight all the time — so let’s be conscious of the activities, people, and places that make our hearts sing with joy. The more we follow this joy, the more we amplify love and light on the planet.
This Leo New Moon cycle can re-energize our hearts with more joy and laughter. In his beautiful book Conversations with the Zs, Lee Harris and his guides say:

Let’s explore the magic of fire. Fire purifies, transforms, and renews. “What is burning inside you that wants to come out and be unleashed?” There’s always a pilot light in the soul, waiting for the right awareness or person to help ignite it. When we interact with these new energies, we feel more alive — more in touch with our soul.
What about Mercury retrograde in Leo? More people are curious about Mercury retrograde, which is wonderful. Mercury retrogrades three times a year for about three weeks — and this one runs from July 18 to August 11, entirely in Leo. Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are also retrograde now, meaning that the collective pace slows. These are ideal moments to filter out noise, listen inwardly, and recalibrate. Since Mercury is in the same sign as the New Moon, we can amplify love, peace, courage, and creative confidence in our thoughts and conversations.
Let’s return to the powerful presence of Pluto, which sits opposite this New Moon. Pluto, lord of the underworld, is the guardian of deep soul power. “As humans, you have been trained to forget your true power, which is your soul. When you are connected to your soul, you are at one with spiritual energy.”
Pluto in Aquarius for the next 20 years will teach humanity about individual freedom and collective sovereignty. This dynamic between Leo and Aquarius invites us to harmonize our inner sovereign self with our soul tribes and communities.
Also in the sky: Chiron in Aries, closely aligned with Eris, goddess of justice and equality. This aspect may accelerate our healing and inspire us to explore new modalities or spiritual practices. It’s an opportunity to build a new fire of confidence and courage from within, grounded in our truth.
Meanwhile, Saturn and Neptune in early Aries are forming a slow, steady alignment, preparing for their historic conjunction in 2026. This long process brings practical support (Saturn) to our soul dreams (Neptune). We are laying foundations for the new world — the world our hearts know is possible.
2025 is a year of massive shifts, transitions, and flow. Many astrologers and wisdom keepers agree: we are in the early phase of a profound metamorphosis of consciousness. We are birthing the energetics of the new human soul on New Earth.
