New Moon in Leo: Reawakening to Love

Writer's picture: Richard MaletteRichard Malette

Dear friend, Bonjour, Aanii, Namaste,

I see you, I honour you and I am grateful for you! The potent energies of this New Moon are inspiring me to communicate straight from the warm, loving, wise and gentle heart of Leo. Since the comic Lion is ruled by the Sun, it reminds us to stand calmly, proudly and majestically in the warm light of our inner luminosity, which naturally happens when we consciously slow down and center ourselves in our heart space. Enjoy this reflection and the special manifestation magic of this New Moon and Lion’s Gate portal.

You are probably hearing a lot about the Lion’s Gate portal. What does it mean? Every year, between July 28 and August 12, we celebrate the rise of Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. It means “glowing” in Greek, and now becomes visible on the eastern horizon before dawn. For the ancient Egyptians, the rise of Sirius coincided with the annual flooding of the Nile and is associated with fertility, creativity, and manifestation. This year’s Lion’s Gate portal is especially meaningful because the New Moon in Leo occurs on August 8, which magnifies its power.

This portal beckons us to step into a higher dimensional frequency. Here is a portion of a beautiful invocation by Matt Kahn. “I allow the Lionsgate to be activated, awakened, and opened as I enter through this portal into a parallel timeline of my next highest self. In stepping through this portal, may all healings I am ready to complete be completed, may all activations and crystalline DNA I am ready to embody be activated, and may all wisdom, life direction, and inspirations in serving the glory of a life purpose I don’t have to figure out ahead of time be realized, received, and revealed. May all be blessed by this Lionsgate Portal. And so it is.

Let’s dive deeper into the astrological magic of Leo. As the archetype of the Child, Leo teaches us to play. In today’s serious and heavy world, it’s like, on some level, we have forgotten how to have fun. I believe that one purpose of this New Moon in Leo is to spark up the frequency of self-love by embracing and reintegrating the playful and divine Child in all of us. “You serve your inner child by welcoming it back into the safety and security you can now offer it. Your inner child serves you because its specialty is fun! Connect and ask it what it would like to do and savour the moment and all the magic and wonder it can hold.” ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young

The New Moon is in a very close square with the power of Uranus, the planet of lightning, revolutionary change, chaos, shocks and surprises. Although chaos has a divine purpose, it can cause us to lose our bearings and leave us feeling confused, disoriented, which steers us off our natural life path. However, when we realize that we are knocked off course, we instinctively begin to center ourselves, reset and recalibrate all our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual circuits, which then reorients us back on our true course from the divine guidance system of the heart.

Sometimes, Uranian energy manifests to break down something in order to create space for new, inspired expression of our soul’s wisdom. I injured my knee a few weeks ago, and it has forced me to slow down, come back to my core, and take every step with awareness, peace and gratitude for the journey of life.

Since 2020, we are experiencing an acceleration of ancient intergenerational traumas coming strongly and swiftly to the surface of our consciousness, because we have entered a time period designed with opportunities for very deep healing. According to intuitive Lee Harris, “many people are trapped in their own emotional dissonance. Are your past emotions creating your future, or are you?” It is increasingly necessary to ground, breathe deeply, and come back to living with simplicity, beauty and compassion for all beings.

The sudden awakening energies of Uranus can also gift us with spontaneous shifts in perspective. “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.” Just yesterday, I had a deep conversation with a good friend that magically cleared up old emotional issues, and it felt like a strike of lightning that released charged tension in the shared atmosphere.

This New Moon in Leo is an invitation to embody the noble Knight that serves us and the world with valour, honour and wisdom. It is a celebration of the dignity, majesty and numinous beauty of our inner Queen or King. It is about remembering that “You are beautiful in ways that you will never understand”. (Lee Harris)

As we walk through this New Moon Lion’s Gate, let’s allow all the craziness, the chaos, confusion and emotional storms to energetically flow through and out of us. This portal is like a divine bridge that leads us back to the loving heart of our higher self. We can now reawaken to all colours of love, which beautifully ripples out into the collective, helping to heal Mother Earth, the global human family and all life back into heart-centered cohesion. Love is more than a positive feeling; it is our natural state of being. May the love that we are lead the way and plant magical seeds of intention that will reawaken us to our true Self.

Wishing all of you a completely magnificent New Moon! Dance the Dance of Life! Sing the Song of your Heart. Drum with the heartbeat of the Earth. Walk with animal grace. Live the life of your dreams! See life in its most beautiful and glorious light.

Galaxy of love,

Richard ❤️
