After many days of brutal cold, the weather is now comfortable, and I finally enjoyed my favourite winter activity here in Sudbury—skating on Lake Ramsey to see the sunset and moonrise. So glorious! I feel that the Full Moon in Leo embodies the heart of winter, a time to fully enjoy the unique beauty of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, which mirrors the magic of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Since Leo connects to the heart in the human body, this Leo Full Moon radiates the ineffable passion, love, and intelligence of our heart.


What is ultimately important to your heart? This Full Moon is a perfect time to tune in, feel, hear, and remember what your soul truly desires in life. The heart’s magic is like a playground of creative manifestation power. May this lovely Full Moon inspire you to reconnect with your divine inner Child and your dignified, majestic, sovereign inner Queen/King, and to believe in your soul vision. May we all breathe a little deeper, smile a little wider, and be more receptive to the healing power of play, joy, and gratitude for life. I just felt called to play Burning Love by Elvis.


Since the New Moon in Capricorn in mid-January, we have been slowly building a new long-term architecture for rising consciousness. There is a part of our psyche that is ready to get more real with what we want to create in our personal and collective world. That New Moon helped us reconnect with the Captain of our life-ship, with more integrity, purpose, and honour.


This Full Moon in Leo, in opposition to the Sun and many planets in Aquarius, is facilitating a recalibration of energy between individuality and collective consciousness. Just as every sun connects to all the stars in the galaxy, we are all unique individuals connecting with our natural community of family, friends, neighbours, animals, the Earth, and the universe around us. We are entering a threshold time in our evolution that is helping us expand our understanding—awareness—consciousness of “reality.” Truly, what is real? Who are we, really? Why are we here? I sense that this year, we will explore and discover new answers to these ultimate questions.


As we develop the muscle of inner peace to more quickly soothe our nervous system, no matter what is going on in the outer world, we synergistically boost harmony, integrity, and resilience in the collective energy field. As I write these words, I just discovered the wonderful Walk for Peace by Buddhist monks on a pilgrimage from Texas to Washington. Love that synchronicity!


Let’s now explore one of the biggest astrological shifts of the whole year, which happened just a few days ago. On January 26, Neptune moved to 0° Aries and will stay in the sign of the Ram - Warrior, Leader, Pioneer in human consciousness, until 2039. As the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries sparks a new spiritual fire on the planet. The passage of Neptune, god of the seas, in Pisces, the last Zodiac sign, from 2011 to 2026 represented a chapter of human history designed to be a time of profound dissolution, cleansing, and purification. Before any rebirth, there is always a time of letting go and shedding old ways of living, and so we have been witnesses to the disintegration and collapse of an old world order. Some level of chaos and confusion is a natural part of the shift.


My vehicle needed a boost after many days of cold weather last week. One of the many blessings of this new Aries fire is that it can feel like a cosmic boost of energy. Aren’t we ready for an energetic upgrade? We can feel a renewed sense of vitality, passion, vigour, and courage to express a new vision for ourselves and the world. This can have different effects on people. If you were feeling low energy for a while, this boost can feel very enlivening and delightfully stimulating. If, however, you already have tons of energy, you might need to channel this new rush more consciously or with greater creative agency.


I am learning that at any time, we can give love energy and receive love energy from the universal energy grid that we are all building together. We are not divided; we are realizing more and more how deeply connected and united we truly are and always have been. Because the mind is more easily manipulated than the heart, this Full Moon can amplify the truth and clarity of our heart’s wisdom.


For many months, Pluto was alone in the sign of Aquarius, but by the end of January there are five planets in Aquarius: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto, all together in Aquarius—the sign of genius, invention, freedom, independence, and revolution to build a more equal and compassionate community. There has been a feisty revolutionary fervour swirling around the globe since mid-January that will continue to grow all winter and spring. Powerful truths, revelations, shocks, and fast-moving changes are coming to light. Let’s remember to stay cool-headed, grounded, and warm-hearted.


The creative fire energy of this Full Moon in Leo, combined with the new fire of Neptune in Aries and mingling with the air magic of Aquarius, is alchemizing a force of healing and evolution in the heart of humanity this year. This dynamic alchemy of fire and air signs in the astrological vistas of 2026 will create a lighter and faster energy than the slower and naturally heavier qualities of earth and water signs in previous years.


This potent alchemy is designed to propel us forward on our journeys and help us move through dense energies that have held us back or suppressed us for a long time. Issues may arise where energies feel blocked, so we need to pay attention to what our bodies are saying. Conscious communication between our mind, soul, heart, and body is helping us rewrite our stories and allow more ease, trust, and grace into our flow.
